Bhagavatula Sadashiva Shankara Sastry ( 31st July 1925 - 4 06 1998), known by their pen-name Arudra, is a very respected author in Contemporary Telugu literature of Andhra Pradesh, Indian. Arudra was born within Visakhapatnam on 31 July 1925. After the main education here, he altered to Vizianagaram in 1942 with regard to his college education. He became drawn to Communism after coming into connection with people like Ronanki Appalaswami as well as Chaganti Somayajulu.
He joined the Indian Air Force like a band boy in 1943 as well as served it till 1947. He shifted to Madras as well as worked as editor of `Anandavani' magazine for 2 years. Joining the cine area in 1949, he wrote lyrics and dialogues for a lot of films. He married mentioned writer, K. Ramalakshmi (a columnist along with a writer-critic in her personal right) in 1954.
